AcneFree Summary
In the world of acne and skin treatments, this is a product that is just starting to get a lot of notice through TV and infomercials as well as a strong online presence. Made by University Medical Pharmaceuticals, a company that offers medical-sounding products that fall within the mid-price range in this market. The ads are well done and there might be some strong clinical evidence to back claims, but the website needs to be clearer about that.
University Medical Pharmaceuticals sounds like a medical company, which is a strong selling point, but they did not have any connections to doctors, real or implied, on their website at all, including any that would be on their advising board. There was no mention of any advising board, and any clinical trial information was not readily or easily found on the site. There are a number of customer testimonials but none of them had pictures of these successes which is a major drawback, especially with this type of product. There are promises of online exclusives and special pricing but when you get to the order page these items are temporarily out of stock with no date for possible shipment.1
AcneFree Pros And Cons
- Comparably priced product with well done ads and website.
- Contains familiar, key ingredients that are generally considered the standard in skin care.
- Easy to understand, straightforward directions
- Could not find photographs to accompany the testimonials 2
- Clinical trials or advisory board information were not available
- May be confusing customers by using a "medical" sounding name
What We Think
There is nothing really special to set Acne Free apart from other similar products either in price or in marketing appeal. Whether it works better or not remains to be seen because there is no photographic evidence on the website and no clearly defined clinical trials to look at either. With such a clinical sounding name, we would think there would be at least some mention of doctors or other medical professionals who worked with the company as an advisory board but that information was not readily available either.
