Biore Scrub Summary
Biore is a skin care brand of Japanese health and beauty giant KAO Corporation. Featuring a diverse product portfolio Biore’s acne line consists of about 4 products and appears to be all about refreshing your face and your life. Biore claims their scrub is clinically proven to proven to instantly clear pores 68% better than Proactiv and, containing two percent salicylic acid, claims to be more effective than other leading scrub products. This is a compelling claim though when we looked into it further, details of the study could not be found (all that Biore disclosed was that their System of Bioré® Blemish Fighting Ice Cleanser or Pore Unclogging Scrub + Pore Strips + Triple Action Astringent was pitted against Proactiv’s 3-Piece Proactiv® System).
Biore Scrub Pros And Cons
- Part of a well-respected line of skin care products
- Easily available
- Reasonable pricing
- We could not find any testimonials, clinical trial information or pictures on the website
- We could not find any specific information to back up claims of superiority on the site
- We did not find anything special to set it apart from others in its class
What We Think
Biore is a very popular and well-known brand of products. The Biore's website makes several claims about their acne product, however none of them were ever really backed up with solid evidence (although a small bullet point did cite the type of study performed), and there are no testimonials or recommendations from satisfied customers. Surely a giant like Kao could work much harder on the website for one of its major sellers.
We would like to see the details of the clinical studies of course, but we would also like to see some of the documentation backing up the claims of superiority to Proactiv as well as to the other scrub products that it claims to be better than.1
