Noxzema Summary
Who does not know Noxzema? One of the major product lines from Alberto-Culver Inc., Noxzema has been promising to clear up teenage faces forever. There are countless variations on the Noxzema product line including the original products, triple-clean products, anti-blemish pads, anti-bacterial lathering cleansers, an astringent and a blackhead cleanser to name a few. Most of the Noxzema brand products have two percent salicylic acid in them and the newer products include natural extracts as well.
Not much has changed in the product line since it began; the original Noxzema still looks, smells and works the same way it always has. Prices vary on the products, but are for the most part reasonable.
Noxzema Pros And Cons
- Well-known product, very widely available
- Newer product lines feature natural extracts
- Reasonably priced
- We could not find testimonials or pictures on the website
- We could not find clinical trial information on the site as well1
- Noxzema’s distinctive smell can be too much for some people
What We Think
While it is true that most people grew up with at least one of the familiar blue jars on their bathroom counter, Noxzema’s classic smell can be intense and not appealing for some people. Savvy consumers may be put off by the lack of real information on the website, especially considering what mega-players Alberto-Culver Inc and Noxzema are in the skin care industry. We would think that testimonials and pictures would be included on this website and were very disappointed not to find any. Even more shocking was the lack of clinical trial information or even claims of effectiveness. With Noxzema’s heritage you would think they would have boatloads of proof that their products work.
