Unblemish Summary
Unblemish is the acne fighting brand of skin care company Rodan and Fields. Oddly enough, Dr. Katie Rodan and Dr. Kathy Fields are the supposed dermatologists who created the Proactiv line of acne cream. The Unblemish regimen comes as a three part package including an Acne Treatment Sulfur Wash 100 ml, Clarifying Toner 125 ml and Acne Benzoyl Peroxide Treatment 50 mL and retails for around a pricey $100. Unblemish is reported to “clear breakouts and calm your complexion to keep pimples, blackheads and red spots” from appearing on your face. The regimen is supposed to clear, heal, and balance your skin.
An odd twist is that their cleanser is reported to smell pretty bad, probably due to the sulfur that is one of the ingredients. 1

What We Think
Unblemish seems like a reputable product with good science beheind it. However, Unblemish should create a website (or make their page more easy to find) because it was initially unclear we had to go to the Rodan and Fields Corporate site to glean information about their acne product. Also, there doesn’t appear to be any clinical trial information or before and after picture testimonials on their corporate site (we would expect such a thing from a Dr. run company). Another minor drawback is that the product is reported to smell bad. This is probably due to the sulfur content in the wash. We would also like to see a trial offer for the product. Having to spend $100, for a product whose results with your particular acne are uncertain, seems a bit much. In light of all this we can think of several products that are powerful acne fighters and well under $100.
